Terms of Service

Last updated: 31 July 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a legally binding agreement between you and TradeLink Hub governing your use of our website, mobile application, and related services (the “Platform”). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

1. Definitions

  • “Platform” means the TradeLink Hub website and mobile application.
  • “Customer” means a user seeking to engage a Tradesperson for a job.
  • “Tradesperson” means an independent service provider offering trades services through the Platform.
  • “User” means any person who accesses or uses the Platform, including Customers, Tradespeople, and Affiliates.
  • “Secure holding” means funds held by TradeLink Hub (via Stripe) on behalf of the parties until release conditions are met.
  • “Commission” means the platform fee charged on completed transactions.

2. Your acceptance of these Terms

By creating an account, posting a job, joining as a Tradesperson, or otherwise using the Platform, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into binding contracts. If you are using the Platform on behalf of a business, you represent that you have authority to bind that business.

3. The service we provide

TradeLink Hub is a marketplace that facilitates the introduction of Customers to Tradespeople and provides tools for quoting, contracting, messaging, and payment. We are nota party to the contract for services between a Customer and a Tradesperson, and we do not carry out or guarantee the trades work itself. We act as a limited payment agent to hold funds securely and release them in accordance with these Terms and our Refund Policy.

4. Accounts & registration

  • You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account.
  • Customers may post a job without registering; however, registering enables job tracking and contract management.
  • Tradespeople must create a free Stripe account to receive payouts. TradeLink Hub does not hold tradesperson funds outside of the Stripe infrastructure.

5. Customer responsibilities

  • Provide truthful, accurate job descriptions and be available for reasonable communication.
  • Pay the agreed deposit and balance through the Platform using the secure checkout.
  • Agree that contact details (phone and email) are shared with the assigned Tradesperson only once a contract is formed and a deposit invoice is paid.
  • Not solicit Tradespeople off-platform to bypass the Platform’s payment and protection mechanisms.

6. Tradesperson responsibilities

  • Provide accurate business and qualification information and maintain any required professional certifications.
  • Carry out work to a reasonable standard, in compliance with applicable laws and building regulations.
  • Hold appropriate insurance and liability cover for the work undertaken.
  • Ensure your Stripe Connect account is active and capable of receiving payouts.
  • Not request or accept payment off-platform while a contract is managed through TradeLink Hub.

7. In-platform communication

To protect both parties and maintain transaction records, all communication between Customers and Tradespeople must take place through the Platform’s messaging tools until a contract is formed and a deposit is paid. Phone numbers and email addresses are redacted from messages during this period. Off-platform communication that bypasses the Platform’s protections is at your own risk and may limit your eligibility for dispute resolution.

8. Quotes, contracts & pricing

  • Tradespeople may provide quotes through the Platform. Quotes are indicative unless converted into a written contract.
  • A contract is formed when both parties accept the agreed price, scope, and terms within the Platform.
  • The agreed price is split into a deposit and a balance as set out in the contract.

9. Commission

  • TradeLink Hub charges a platform commission on completed transactions (the “Commission”). The applicable rate is shown at the point of contract creation.
  • The Commission is deducted from the total amount paid by the Customer and the remaining balance is paid to the Tradesperson.
  • Affiliate bounties are paid out of the platform Commission and are capped, so that the platform retains a defined minimum.

10. Payments & holding

  • Customer deposits and balance payments are processed by Stripe and held until release conditions are met.
  • Funds are released to the Tradesperson when the job is marked complete and no dispute is open.
  • If a dispute is open, payouts are paused until resolution per our Dispute Resolution process.
  • TradeLink Hub does not charge Tradespeople for deposits; payouts occur on the agreed schedule once funds are released.

11. Dispute resolution

Either party may raise a dispute through the Platform. When a dispute is raised, all payouts are paused pending investigation. TradeLink Hub will review evidence from both parties and may resolve a dispute by authorising a refund to the Customer or releasing funds to the Tradesperson. Decisions are based on the evidence available and are final within the Platform. Nothing in this section limits your statutory consumer rights.

12. Reviews

Reviews may only be submitted for completed jobs and must be honest and based on genuine experience. We may remove reviews that are defamatory, false, abusive, or otherwise breach these Terms. Tradespeople may not offer incentives in exchange for positive reviews.

13. Affiliate programme

Affiliates may earn bounties by referring Customers or Tradespeople. Bounty amounts are published in the Affiliate area and are paid from the platform Commission once the referred transaction completes. TradeLink Hub reserves the right to suspend affiliates who breach these Terms or engage in fraudulent referral activity.

14. Prohibited conduct

You must not:

  • Use the Platform for any unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purpose.
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your qualifications.
  • Attempt to bypass Platform fees or payment systems.
  • Scrape, copy, or misuse Platform content or data.
  • Upload malware or attempt to disrupt Platform security.
  • Disclose contact details through redacted messages before a contract and paid deposit.

15. Intellectual property & ownership

15.1 Our rights

The Platform, including all software, design, text, graphics, logos, the name “TradeLink-Hub” and “TradeLink Hub”, our visual identity, and all related intellectual property rights are owned by TradeLink Hub. “TradeLink Hub” and “TradeLink-Hub” function as trade marks of TradeLink Hub. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trade names, trade marks, or other proprietary identifiers except as strictly necessary to use the Platform for its intended purpose.

15.2 Your content

You retain ownership of content you submit (job descriptions, messages, images, reviews). You grant TradeLink Hub a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, use, display, and reproduce that content for the purpose of operating the Platform.

15.3 Copyright

All content on the Platform is © TradeLink Hub and protected by copyright law. Unauthorised reproduction, distribution, or exploitation of Platform content is prohibited.

16. Licences & authorisations

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, TradeLink Hub grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Platform for its intended personal or business purpose. This licence does not include any right to resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Platform.

17. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We do not guarantee the quality, legality, or outcome of any trades work. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude warranties that might otherwise be implied.

18. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, TradeLink Hub shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, arising from your use of the Platform. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms is limited to the total commissions we have received from the transaction giving rise to the claim in the preceding 12 months. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded by law (for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).

19. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold TradeLink Hub harmless from any claims, damages, or losses arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Platform, or your conduct in connection with a job arranged through the Platform.

20. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or where required to protect other Users or the Platform. You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, liability, and indemnity) will remain in effect.

21. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where consumer protection law gives you a right to bring proceedings in your local jurisdiction.

22. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
